Answer these questions with a rating from 1-10. 1 being not at all and 10 being all the time:
How preoccupied are you by your sexual behaviour?
Do you find yourself distracted at work, or avoiding socialising, as a result of your sexual behaviour?
Have you got money troubles as a result of your acting out?
Do you feel that your acting out has impacted your romantic relationships?
Would you be happier if you had more control over your sex life?
Has your sleep, personal hygiene or concentration been suffering as the result of your habit?
Do you take risks, such as having unprotected sex with multiple strangers?
Do your yearnings or behaviour fall outside the moral compass of you or your partner?
Have you ever, or are you in danger of, breaking the law or harming someone?
If you answered above five for any of these, it could be that you are struggling, and that therapy could help you. Of course, this isn't an exhaustive or scientific list. For example, you could work in the sex industry or be in a new relationship and therefore be extremely preoccupied with sex. It's up to you (and, in some cases, the law!) as to whether your issue is a problem.
